Aliquippa running back Terry Swanson made his college decision Saturday night. A teammate will announce his college choice tomorrow.
Terry Swanson made a verbal commitment to Toledo while on an unofficial visit to the school this weekend. A few other Mid-American Conference schools also had offered scholarships.
"I was going to visit Akron the following weekend and after that, whoever offered," Swanson said. "But I found a place and I found a home [at Toledo].
"I just like the atmosphere, the coaches and the players. I felt comfortable the whole time I was there."
Swanson (pictured, No. 12) was recruited to play running back. He finished his career as the third all-time leading rusher in Aliquippa history with 4,333 yards on 466 carries. He also played defensive back but will play running back at Toledo.
"People don't think I'm that big," Swanson said. "But I'm 195 right now. Running back is where my passion is. I think have the skill set and size to play running back."
Aliquippa teammate Dravon Henry will announce his college decision today at 1 p.m. He rushed for more than 5,000 yards for Aliquippa in his career, but he is being recruited as a defensive back. Pitt and West Virginia are reportedly his finalists. Henry apparently has made up his mind and Swanson said he knows.
"But I'm not giving it up," Swanson said with a laugh.
Will it be Pitt or West Virginia? Stay tuned.
