Lights Out: WPIAL semifinals

A quick rundown of how semifinals went in each class ... all championship games are next Saturday, Nov. 23, at Heinz Field.

Class AAAA

4-Woodland Hills 28, 1-Upper St. Clair 21. A late goal-line stand helped Woodland Hills hold on for the win. Read the recap and Mike White's live blog.


2-Central Catholic 49, 6-Penn-Trafford 10. As Brad Everett wrote in his recap, the formula for victory was simple: Dominant defense plus superb special teams plus efficient offense equals a trip to Heinz Field. More on his Twitter feed @BREAL412.

Championship: No. 2 Central Catholic vs. No. 4 Woodland Hills, 2 p.m.

Class AAA

1-West Allegheny 21, 4-Franklin Regional 12. Chayse Dillon ran for 167 yards and three touchdowns for the Indians. Read the recap and check out @RyanRiordan's feed for more.

Class AA

Championship: No. 1 Aliquippa vs. No. 2 South Fayette, 5 p.m.

Class A

1-Sto-Rox 24, 4-Clairton 19. Lenny Williams overcame a three-turnover first half to beat the five-time Class A champs who had blown out Sto-Rox in each of the past two championship games. Read the recap and check out @NickVeronica's Twitter feed for more. 

2-North Catholic 27, 6-Neshannock 14. P.J. Fulmore was a workhorse, grinding out 216 yards and three TDs on 42 carries. Read Joe Koch's recap for more

City teams in PIAA

Allderdice played Erie McDowell in a Class AAAA regional game. Allderdice lost 49-19.
