Baldwin votes against hiring Seton-LaSalle's Perry and hires assistant coach

Written by Mike White on .

Baldwin High School hired Pete Wagner as football coach tonight.

His hiring was part of a strange turn of events at a Baldwin school board meeting tonight. Wagner has been a Baldwin assistant coach. But the Baldwin administration recommended to the Baldwin school board that Greg Perry be hired as coach. Perry has been successful as Seton-LaSalle's coach for the past eight seasons, but the Baldwin board voted, 5-4, against hiring Perry.

The board then turned around and hired Wagner.
