North Allegheny had 26 first downs and 456 total yards. Mack Leftwich's 199 yards passing was a Class AAAA championship game record and the 63 points was a record for a title game in any class.

Alex DeCiantis, NA running back, had 115 yards on 21 carries. NA sophomore Layne Skundrick had 4.5 tackles. North Allegheny had three sacks.

Daquan Worley had 160 yards rushing on 17 carries.

North Allegheny sets record for most points in a championship game. More later.

8:24 p.m. - Start the mercy rule. Alex DeCiantis TD run and North Allegheny leads, 56-21, with 8:44 left in game.

8:20 p.m. - After three quarters, North Allegheny has out-gained Coatesville, 350-211. Leftwich is 15 of 19 for 183 and is getting close to 100 yards rushing.

8:17 p.m. - Fourth quarter now starting. Will we see mercy rule?

8:12 p.m. - North Allegheny pulling away. Alex DeCiantis 1-yard TD run with 1:01 left in third quarter. Most definitely one of the best offenses I've seen in the WPIAL in a while.

8:06 p.m. - Roughing passer penalty on NA puts Coatesville at NA 23. But LB Kevin Edwards intercepted for NA and gets long return to kill a threat. A score there would've kept Coatesville in game. Can't see NA giving up this lead now.

8:01 p.m. - North Allegheny answers with an eight-play, 69-yard scoring drive. On the TD, QB Mack Leftwich scrambles, throws back across the field to Gregg Garrity for 17-yard scoring play.

7:58 p.m. - Crowd for this game is 6,047. Largest of the weekend.

7:56 p.m. - Most points scored on North Allegheny this season.

7:52 p.m. - On fourth-and-one, Coatesville goes for it at 11-yard line - and throws a pass. But completes it for 10-yard gain to North Allegheny one. Emmett Hunt scores on QB sneak and maybe we have a game here. PAT is good and it's 35-21 with 8:53 left.

7:49 p.m. - Coatesville coming out in second half with some enthusiasm. Has moved to North Allegheny 14.

HALFTIME: North Allegheny 35, Coatesville 14

Coatesville limited to four first downs in first half. 148 total yards. North Allegheny had 15 first downs and 249 total yards. Mack Leftwich on his way to another 200-yard passing game. Has completed 12 of 15 for 137 yards.

Daquan Worley has 124 yards on 10 carries, but 89 of those came on one run. Leftwich leads North Allegheny in rushing with 64 yards on 12 attempts.

What a crazy first half. One of the craziest I've seen up here. First-half stats in a moment.

North Allegheny getting heavy pass rush on Coatesville QB Emmett Hunt. NA has two sacks and number of pressures.

7:09 p.m. - The only thing that stopped the NA Tigers was themselves. North Allegheny fumbled the ball away at the Coatesville 11 with 2:21 left. Then on the first play, Daquan Worley goes 89 yards for a touchdown run. We could have had mercy rule possibly in second half. But now Coatesville is down by only 21.

6:57 p.m. - After Coatesville went three and out, Coatesville gets short punt. North Allegheny takes over at Coatesville 33 and three plays later, Alex DeCiantis bowls 22 yards for TD. PAT good and it's now 35-7.

Will the Tigers get another mercy rule game in second half?

6:52 p.m. - Coatesville finally gets a stop. NA turns ball over on downs.

6:51 p.m. - North Allegheny forced Coatesville punt. Now North Allegheny on move again. Fourth down and 3 on the Coatesville 26.

END OF FIRST QUARTER: North Allegheny 28, Coatesville 7

6:39 p.m. - Can anyone stop North Allegheny offense? Mack Leftwich 6-yard TD run. Kick good by Buchert and it's 28-7 with 21 seconds still left in first half.

6:36 p.m. - This game is crazy. NA good kickoff return by Gregg Garrity puts ball in Coatesville territory.

I can't type fast enough to keep with the scoring. Long kickoff return for Coatesville sets up 1-yard touchdown run by Emmett Hunt. PAT good and there is now four TDs in the first quarter.

It will be interesting what will happen to North Allegheny's defense is Coatesville can hang onto the ball.

6:32 p.m. - Yes, North Allegheny has a three TD lead, but Coatesville looks like it can move the ball. Coatesville speed is impressive.

And you blinked, and North Allegheny leads, 21-0. This time, Coatesville QB Emmett Hunt fumbled, Kevin Edwards picked it up and returned it 52 yards for a TD.

Coatesville is moving and a pass is thrown to Dre Boggs. He tries to get some extra yardage, but Layne Skundrich forces a fumble for North Allegheny, Brendan Coniker recovers at the 20 and returns it 80 yards for a score. PAT good and it's now 14-0 North Allegheny. That sets a record for the longest fumble recovery return in PIAA championship history.

6:21 p.m. - Coatesville definitely has some speed on offense.

6:20 p.m. - Elijah Zeise starting at corner for North Allegheny, despite groin injury. Coatesville gets 22-yard pass play on its first play.

Impressive start for NA. Offense clicking again. 12 plays, 71 yards. Skylar Cox catches 8-yard touchdown pass from Mack Leftwich with 7:40 left in first quarter.

6:14 p.m. - North Allegheny on the move already. Now at Coatesville 34.

6:10 p.m. - Coatesville defensive front looks a litlte on the smallish side. We'll see how they stand up against a very good North Allegheny offensive line.

6:00 p.m. - Game time in about five minutes.

One thing to watch in this game is North Allegheny's secondary against Coatesville's receivers. Also, North Allegheny could be without starting cornerback Elijah Zeise because of a groin injury.

By the way, the largest crowd of the weekend so far was for the Class AA final today between Wyomissing and Aliquippa. Crowd was 5,530.

Penn State coach Bill O'Brien was here earlier today. Don't ever remember Joe coming to state high school championships.
