Though it wasn't the traditional Friday Night Lights scrimmage at Latrobe Memorial Stadium (owing to dead grass there), the Steelers had their evening practice at their regular stomping grounds of Saint Vincent College followed by a fireworks show, but not before the offense made some fireworks of their own.
They eschewed the full-on scrimmage format typical of the evening practices but the offense clearly had the upper hand in the team sessions, with LeVeon Bell breaking off a few big runs to the delight of the several thousand fans on hand.
Granted they weren't tackling, but even his fellow draftmate, linebacker Jarvis Jones, had to hand it to him.
"I think today the offense had their way with it. They made a couple big plays ... they did a good job of blocking and scheming. LeVeon's looking better by the day," Jones said, adding, "He's an incredible player."
