Kennedy first in line - 01-20-13

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

Assuming there isn't a scoring change, (a big assumption mind you) Tyler Kennedy's goal in yesterday's 3-1 win against the rival Flyers put him in somewhat unique and exclusive company.

Kenndy became the second player in franchise history to score the Penguins' first goal of a season on three different occasions. Kennedy's previous first goals came in 2008-09and 2010-11.

He joins former All-Star Mark Recchi as the only players to accomplish that feat three times with the Penguins.
