Winters is a familiar recruit
One of Duquesne’s newest recruits is likely familiar to a lot of Duquesne fans: Quevyn Winters.
Winters said he was recruited by former coach Ron Everhart and said he considered attending Duquesne right out of high school.
His ACT score, he said, was not up to par, which meant a year of prep school in North Carolina.
He also had confrontation with an official back in high school, but according to an article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel was working hard to get past it.
The second time around, he said, he still thought Duquesne was a good fit.
“I really liked the campus and I liked everything that Coach Ferry had to offer,” said Winters.
He also said the recent additions of VCU and Butler caught his eye: “The Atlantic 10 is a conference on the rise."
Jim Ferry said Winters is a "great shooter, ball-handler, and passer who can run the court."
And at 6-5 he can play the 2 or the 3.
