LIU Brooklyn's Jim Ferry mulling offer

Written by Jenn Menendez on .

Multiple sources have told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that LIU Brooklyn’s Jim Ferry interviewed for the Duquesne job last week and is on campus today with his wife to finalize a decision.

Ferry, according to another source, is a well-liked among his peers. His teams get up and down the floor quickly and play a high tempo style.

Ferry led LIU Brooklyn to the NEC title and the NCAA tournament in both of the last two seasons.

A call to Ferry’s agent has not been returned.

The Post-Gazette was told on Saturday by multiple sources that the search was coming to a close. One source said a hire was expected to be announced by Tuesday.

If Ferry accepts the position, it would bring a two-week long coaching search to an end since Duquese dismissed Ron Everhart on March 23 after six seasons at the helm.
