So what is the job at Duquesne worth?

One industry source suggested Duquesne look to Dan Hurley’s deal at Rhode Island as it may have set the bar for market value in the Atlantic 10 right now.

The former Wagner coach, according to the Providence Journal, agreed to a six-year contract last month worth between $650,000 and $700,000 a season depending on incentives.

That adds up to around $4 million over the life of the contract.

According to USA today figures (great database compiled here) that beats some of the top jobs in the Atlantic 10:

• Fran Dunphy at Temple: $547,403
• Chris Mack at Xavier: $484,000
• Mark Schmidt at St. Bonaventure: $328,465

Duquesne President Charles Dougherty did say back on March 23, when Ron Everhart was dismissed: "It's safe to say we understand what the market will bear. We understand you get what you pay for."
