SLU Coach hospitalized for precautionary measures

Duquesne will face No. 2 Saint Louis without the Billikens head coach Rick Majerus today at noon.

Majerus is at the hospital for precuationary measures after taking the wrong medication following an early morning swim, according to the Saint Louis sports information department.

Assistant Coach Chris Harriman will be coaching the Billikens.

Majerus has had several heart bypass surgeries.

Saint Louis University head men’s basketball coach Rick Majerus will not coach today’s game at Duquesne.

Majerus was taken to a local hospital in Pittsburgh for precautionary measures after taking the wrong medication. He swam early this morning and traveled to the Palumbo Center with the team, but after an evaluation by doctors it was suggested he be sent to the hospital for further evaluation.

Majerus is expected to travel back to St. Louis with the team today.
