The Dukes travel to St. Bonaventure today to try and pick up a road win in a building that’s very tough to do so.
The Bonnies are 8-1 at home this season and have consistently through the years been tough to beat at the Reilly Center.
One player who’ll be standing in the way: No. 44
Andrew Nicholson, the team’s 6-foot-9 center, was held to 11 points in a loss at Duquesne last month and from what coach Ron Everhart and players were saying this week he is capable of a lot more.
He got in early foul trouble that game.
Took the opportunity to do our game preview on Nicholson, who has a very interesting story as a physics major and NBA prospect.
If you missed that check it out here.
F Sean Johnson has not practiced all week because of strep throat and heading into the game he was considered questionable. Am told will be a game time decision if he plays.
That’s significant if he winds up not playing, because he’s scored in double digits in 20 of 23 games and is one of the team’s most versatile shooters not to mention the leading scorer (15.1 ppg). He’s a threat inside, outside and also a steady presence on the court.
Update 4 p.m.: Johnson is in the lineup and will play today.
