Shell officially enrolled at West Virginia

Written by Stephen J. Nesbitt on .

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Rushel Shell, a controversial running back transfer from Pitt, is officially a Mountaineer. As of midday Saturday, Shell is listed as a general studies student on the West Virginia student directory.

Shell, a former four-star recruit from Aliquippa, Pa., reopened his recruitment, per se, this summer after determining to transfer after his freshman year with the Panthers. Shell rushed for 641 yards and four touchdowns and caught nine passes for 103 yards as a true freshman last fall.

Due to undergraduate transfer restrictions, Shell will not see game action at West Virginia until next fall.
