West Virginia appears a long shot to vie for a Big 12 title next season, but that didn't stop the Mountaineers' marketing machine from putting this impressive 'Road to the Championship' design up in Milan Puskar Center.

Assistant director of football operations Quincy Wilson tweeted the above photo Wednesday. Note that they left the last space empty, because it's far too early to forecast who West Virginia's opponent will be in the Big 12 championship game.

West Virginia won four games last season and faces a true gauntlet this fall. On that wall are four opponents that finished the 2013 regular season ranked in the top-15: No. 3 Alabama, No. 6 Baylor, No. 11 Oklahoma and No. 13 Oklahoma State. Maryland, Texas Tech and Texas also crept into the top-25 at different points during the season.

The road to the championship truly begins Sunday, when the Mountaineers open spring practices in Morgantown, W.Va.
