Steelers' playoff odds report
No word if it carries the same statistical veracity of Nate Silver's fivethirtyeight, but by virtue of a win over the New York Giants on Sunday which raised their record to 5-3, David P. Gerard's makeNFLplayoffs.com raised the Steelers chance of making the playoffs from 46.8 to 57.3% -- the team's highest mark of the year as they begin the second half of their season.
The Steelers' previous low mark came after a Thursday night game in Tennessee last month dropped their record to 2-3. Their playoff likelihood at that time was only 27.2%.
The Steelers' chance of winning the division also increased, from 29.8% to 30.3%.
Around the AFC North, the 6-2 Baltimore Ravens' chances of winning the division is 67.4% and are an 86.8% favorite to make the playoffs. At 3-5, the Bengals have only a 2.1% shot of winning the division and are a 10 % playoff possibility. And in Cleveland, it'll be another wait-'til-next-year season: the Browns have a mere 0.2% chance of winning the division and AFC and a 1.4% likelihood of making the playoffs.
