Rapid Reaction: Robert Morris 57, Saint Francis 68

Written by Megan Ryan on .

Another day, another setback for the Colonials. This time, it's freshman guard Isaiah Still's three-game suspension for violating athletic department policy. He had been averaging 22 points in the three games leading up to the Saint Francis clash. Robert Morris' fragile offense wasn't the same without his spark.

Turning point: After Robert Morris' 12-0 run about five minutes into the second half to take the lead, Saint Francis senior forward Ronnie Drinnon got a layup and drew the foul to bring the score back tied at 44-all. And that sparked an eventual big run for the Red Flash, who held on to that lead until the end. McConnell said the moment really deflated his team, who never quite came back from it.

Game ball: Drinnon. He had a game-high 17 points and 16 rebounds and has had some really stellar games recently. Also, he has many tats.

What it means: Well, it's another MO-mentum killer, to say the least. Still has been a big part of this team's improved play in the past two weeks. He attacked the rim, he got to the free-throw line, he played a lot of minutes in a lot of spots. Without him for half of the last six-game stretch as Robert Morris tries to just sneak into the conference tournament is not good. And coach Andy Toole had said even when Still gets back, it might throw the team off again, as players who had been getting more minutes have to resettle on the bench. It's a mess. But, minus the Still situation, Robert Morris played pretty well against one of the No. 1 teams in the league. It was a vast improvement from when Saint Francis dropped 90 on the Colonials a few weeks ago. So, that's something.

What's next: At Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday. The Colonials beat the team before 64-58. But FDU was one of the three teams entering Saturday in the No. 1 spot, so, you know.

Random shoutout: Saint Francis senior guard Ben Millaud-Meunier. Man, does he have a nice 3-point shot. He just drains them from basically, like, half-court, it's wild. Honorable mention to the student dressed up as a T-Rex in the student section. And the student behind me who made an "Another one" DJ Khaled reference when Billy Giles was shooting free throws.
