Rapid Reaction: Robert Morris 52, Mount St. Mary's 76

Written by Megan Ryan on .

No one quite gives a losing press conference like Andy Toole. His best quotes come after games like these, when his team is down by 30 points at halftime and barely cracked the double-digits in time to head to the locker room. Check out my gamer for some real gems. Otherwise, on to the rapid reaction:

Turning point: I'm going to give it to the two-minute stretch in the first half when BK Ashe hit a 3-pointer, then Will Miller hit a 3-pointer and then Chris Wray dunked and drew the foul to make the score 30-7 with about four minutes to play. There was kind of just no way to come back from that.

Game ball: BK Ashe. A game-high 17 points and game-high 10 rebounds for a double-double, shooting pretty much lights out.

What it means: I feel like I use the shrug emoticon too much in these blogs. But honestly, that's just what it is. Toole said something to the effect of, "We're already 3-15. How many more losses will it take before the team decides, 'Hey, losing sucks. Let's win?'" And, I mean, considering the preseason poll had Mount St. Mary's at No. 1 in the league and Robert Morris at No. 2, a big loss like this is kind of disconcerting, yeah?

What's next: Robert Morris plays host to Fairleigh Dickinson at 4 p.m. Saturday. The Knights are 4-1 and 8-8. So I sense another tough one for the Colonials.

Random shoutout: To BK Ashe. I know I already acknowledged him in this here Rapid Reaction but IF YOU HAD SEEN his dancing whenever he was on the bench and one of his teammates made a big score, you'd shout him out, too. He honestly has some moves. Very smooth. Monmouth should look at recruiting him to join its bench antics.

That's it until Saturday, my friends. Follow me on Twitter and watch me tweet about how much I love the Captain America films. Or, you know, sports news.
