GAMEDAY: Pitt vs. Virginia

We've got just about 90 minutes until kickoff between Pitt and Virginia. Like last week, this is a win the Panthers probably need if they want to make a bowl game this year and, also like last week, the opponent is pretty much in the same position. Here are a couple of quick pregame notes to start off the day.

- Here's a link to my game preview from today's paper. Pitt is looking for its first three-game winning streak since midway through the 2010 season.

- Linebacker Shane Gordon (ribs) will not dress for Pitt today. He'll be replaced in the starting lineup by freshman Matt Galambos, who has gotten pretty extensive playing time both on defense and special teams so far this season.

- Pitt will also be without defensive end Bryan Murphy (ankle), who also missed last week's game. He'll be replaced by Ejuan Price. Center Gabe Roberts is also out today (shoulder). Shane Johnson will serve as the backup center.
