-Happy 29th birthday to former Penguins forward Joe Vitale (above). A seventh-round pick in 2005, the great Joe Vitale has spent parts of the past four seasons in Pittsburgh. Making his NHL debut in 2010-11, Vitale appeared in nine games and contributed two points. Vitale broke through as a full-time NHLer in 2011-12 by appearing in 68 games and scoring 14 points. He played in four postseason games that spring and did not record a point. During the lockout-shortened 2012-13 campaign, Vitale saw action in 33 games and scored five points and in the 2013 postseason, he played in six games and had one assist. This past season, Vitale played in 53 games and netted 14 points. The 2014 postseason saw Vitale play in 13 games and record no points. In 163 career regular season games, Vitale had 35 points. In 23 postseason game, he had one assist. Earlier this offseason, he joined the Coyotes as a free agent.
