-Happy 49th birthday to former Penguins defenseman Marc Bergevin (right). Originally acquired in a trade midway through the 2000-01 season in a deal which sent Dan Trebil to the Blues, Bergevin parts of three seasons with the Penguins over three different stints. In 2000-01, he appeared in 36 games for the Penguins and recorded five points. During that postseason, he saw action in 12 games and netted one assist. After re-signing with the Blues early in the 2001-02 season, Bergevin returned to Pittsburgh as a free agent in the 2002 offseason. After 69 games and seven points with the Penguins in 2002-03, Bergevin was traded to the Lightning at the 2003 trade deadline in exchange for Brian Holzinger. In the 2003 offseason, he was trade back to the Penguins in exchange for a draft pick. The 2003-04 season saw him appear in 52 games and score nine points for the Penguins before once again being traded at the 2004 trade deadline. This time he was sent to the Canucks in exchange for a draft pick. In 157 games for the Penguins, Bergevin scored 21 points. He is currently the general manager of the Canadiens.

-Happy 66th birthday to former Penguins forward Ron Snell. A second-round pick in 1968, Snell spent parts of two seasons with the Penguins. In 1968-69, he appeared in four games and scored four points. The 1969-70 season saw him record one assist in three games. In the 1973 offseason, he was sold to the Hershey Bears of the AHL.

-Happy 34th birthday to former Penguins forward Jason Williams. A free agent signing last summer, Williams appeared in eight NHL games last season and scored two points. Last offseason, he joined Ambrì-Piotta of Switzerland's NLA. He is currently a member of the AHL's Oklahoma City Barons.
