-Happy 30th birthday to former Penguins forward Tim Wallace. A free agent signing in 2007, Wallace spent parts of three seasons with the Penguins. Making his NHL debut in 2008-09, he appeared in 16 games and recorded two assists. In 2009-10, Wallace only played in one game and did not score a point. During the 2010-11 season, he saw action in seven games and failed to collect a point. In the 2011 offseason, he joined the Islanders as a free agent. One of 11 players born in Alaska to play in the NHL, Wallace is currently a member of Örebro in Sweden's SHL.

-Happy 43rd birthday to current Penguins goaltending coach Mike Bales.
