-Happy 40th birthday to former Penguins goaltender Patrick Lalime (right). A sixth-round pick in 1993, Lalime made his NHL debut in the 1996-97 season. He would go 14-0-2 in his first 16 starts and establish an NHL record which still stands for longest unbeaten streak to start a career for a goaltender. Lalime would finish with a 21-12-2 record along with a 2.94 goals against average, a .913 save percentage and three shutouts. As a result of that success, he was selected as a member of the NHL's all-rookie team. It would end up being his only season with the Penguins as he would hold out the 1997-98 season due to a contract squabble. At the 1998 trade deadline, his signing rights were dealt to the Mighty Ducks in exchange for Sean Pronger. He is currently a broadcaster with RDS in Canada.
