Penguins select Angello in fifth round - 06-28-14

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

The Penguins have selected center Anthony Angello of the USHL's Omaha Lancers.

In 58 games last season, Angello, 18, scored 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists). Angello (6-foot-4, 190 pounds) has committed to Cornell University for the 2005-16 season. He is a native of Albany, N.Y.

A scouting report from his coach Sean Brown of Fayetteville-Manlius High School via Syracuse.com:

With his size, he can either go through you or around you depending on which way he decides to go. He’s such a big presence on the ice. It’s hard to get a hold of him. Most kids on other teams are taking cheap shots, hitting him low, hooking him, but he fights through that and doesn’t let that bother him.”
