-Penguins executive Bill Guerin was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame along with women's player Cindy Curley, Hurricanes owner Peter Karmanos, Lake Superior State/Bowling Green/Michigan State coach Ron Mason and Islanders assistant coach Doug Weight.

-Penguins defensive prospect Derrick Pouliot was selected to Canada's selection camp for the upcoming IIHF World Junior Championship. Erie Otters center Connor McDavid was selected as well.
-The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins signed forward Mike Carman to an AHL contract and signed forward C.J. Severyn, a native of Beaver, to a professional tryout contract. Additionally, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins recalled defenseman Harrison Ruopp and forward Anton Zlobin from Wheeling.

-Happy 53rd birthday to former Penguins defenseman Mike Ramsey (right). A member of the 1980 United State Olympic hockey team, Ramsey was acquired at the 1993 trade deadline in a deal which sent Bob Errey to the Sabres. He spent parts of two seasons in Pittsburgh. He finished 1992-93 by appearing in 12 games and scoring three points. In 12 postseason games that spring, Ramsey recorded six assists. The 1993-94 campaign saw him appear in 65 games and record four points. During that spring's playoffs, he saw action in one game and failed to record a point. During the 1994 offseason, Ramsey joined the Red Wings as a free agent. In 77 regular season games with the Penguins, Ramsey scored seven points. In 13 postseason games, he recorded one assist.

-Lightning forward J.T Brown's father, Ted Brown, spent eight years in the NFL as a running back for the Minnesota Vikings.
-Two goals and an assist by Olli Jokinen led the Jets past the Rangers, 5-2. Devin Setoguchi added a goal and an assist for Winnipeg while teammate Chris Thorburn recorded two assists. Ondrej Pavelec made 35 saves in the victory.

-Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov appeared in court Monday for an advisement hearing related to a misdemeanor assault charge after his girlfriend said he attacked her. Evgeniya Vavrinyuk accused Varlamov of attacking her Oct. 30.
-The Stars placed defenseman Aaron Rome on injured reserve and recalled forward Travis Morin from Texas of the AHL.
-Tyler Toffoli scored two goals for the Kings in a 3-2 win against the Blues. Mike Richards recoded two assists for Los Angeles while teammate Ben Scrivens made 25 saves. Kevin Shattenkirk and Vladimir Tarasenko each collected a goal and an assist for St. Louis.
