Penguins

-Penguins executive Bill Guerin was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame along with women's player Cindy Curley, Hurricanes owner Peter Karmanos, Lake Superior State/Bowling Green/Michigan State coach Ron Mason and Islanders assistant coach Doug Weight.

-The five inductees from left to right, Curley, Karmanos, Guerin, Weight and Mason:

-Penguins defensive prospect Derrick Pouliot was selected to Canada's selection camp for the upcoming IIHF World Junior Championship. Erie Otters center Connor McDavid was selected as well.

-The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins signed forward Mike Carman to an AHL contract and signed forward C.J. Severyn, a native of Beaver, to a professional tryout contract. Additionally, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins recalled defenseman Harrison Ruopp and forward Anton Zlobin from Wheeling.

-Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forwards Nick Drazenovic (undisclosed) and Dominik Uher (face) are injured.

-Happy 53rd birthday to former Penguins defenseman Mike Ramsey (right). A member of the 1980 United State Olympic hockey team, Ramsey was acquired at the 1993 trade deadline in a deal which sent Bob Errey to the Sabres. He spent parts of two seasons in Pittsburgh. He finished 1992-93 by appearing in 12 games and scoring three points. In 12 postseason games that spring, Ramsey recorded six assists. The 1993-94 campaign saw him appear in 65 games and record four points. During that spring's playoffs, he saw action in one game and failed to record a point. During the 1994 offseason, Ramsey joined the Red Wings as a free agent. In 77 regular season games with the Penguins, Ramsey scored seven points. In 13 postseason games, he recorded one assist.

-Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth (right leg) was placed on injured reserve.

-Former Robert Morris forward Ryan Cruthers has joined the Reading Royals, the Capitals' ECHL affiliate.

Atlantic Division

-Rene Bourque had a goal and an assist for the Canadiens who defeated the Devils, 3-2. David Desharnais recorded two assists for Montreal while teammate Carey Price made 28 saves.

The Senators recalled forward Mike Hoffman from Binghamton of the AHL and assigned defenseman Mark Borowiecki and forward Derek Grant to Binghamton.

-The Panthers are the only team in the NHL which has failed to win a division game.

-Lightning forward J.T Brown's father, Ted Brown, spent eight years in the NFL as a running back for the Minnesota Vikings.

Central Division

-Two goals and an assist by Olli Jokinen led the Jets past the Rangers, 5-2. Devin Setoguchi added a goal and an assist for Winnipeg while teammate Chris Thorburn recorded two assists. Ondrej Pavelec made 35 saves in the victory.

-Josh Harding made 21 saves for the Wild in a 2-0 shutout of the Flyers. It was his 10th career shutout.

-Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov appeared in court Monday for an advisement hearing related to a misdemeanor assault charge after his girlfriend said he attacked her. Evgeniya Vavrinyuk accused Varlamov of attacking her Oct. 30.

-The Stars placed defenseman Aaron Rome on injured reserve and recalled forward Travis Morin from Texas of the AHL.

Pacific Division

-Tyler Toffoli scored two goals for the Kings in a 3-2 win against the Blues. Mike Richards recoded two assists for Los Angeles while teammate Ben Scrivens made 25 saves. Kevin Shattenkirk and Vladimir Tarasenko each collected a goal and an assist for St. Louis.

-Former Rangers forward Jeff Ulmer has joined HC Innsbruck of Austria's EBEL.

-Former Stars forward Raymond Sawada has joined Tappara of Finland Liiga.
