-The Penguins renewed their affiliation agreement with the Nailers for the 203-14 season.

-This is a week old, but the Nailers announced their 2013-14 schedule.

Neapolitan Ice Cream Metropolitan Division

-The Blue Jackets re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Cody Goloubef to a one-year two-way contract.

Atlantic Division

-The Maple Leafs signed general manager Dave Nonis to a five-year contract extension.

Central Division

-The Blues re-signed restricted free agent goaltender Jake Allen (right) to a two-year contract two a two-year contract worth $1.6 million. Coming off an entry-level contract with a salary cap hit of $816,666, Allen's new contract will have a cap hit of $800,000. Allen, 22, appeared in 15 games last season and had a 9-4-0 record a 2.46 goals against average, a .905 save percentage and one shutout.

-EN Says: Allen emerged on the scene last season when incumbent goaltenders Brian Elliott and Jaroslav Halak each struggled last season. With Allen back in the fold, it seems more and more likely that the Blues could move Elliott or Halak via trade.

-The Blackhawks are expected to announce a contract extension with head coach Joel Quenneville today.

-Tennessee's infamous "Jock Tax," which taxes NHL and NBA players $2,500 per game, was debated in the Tennessee state legislature.

Pacific Division

-The Oilers signed defenseman Darnell Nurse, a first-round pick in this year's draft, to a three-year entry-level contract.

-The Canucks signed former Zach Hamill and former Sabres forward Colin Stuart to one-year two-way contracts.

Patrick Division

-Former Blue Jackets/Rangers/Flyers forward Nikolay Zherdev has joined HC Lev Praha of Russia's KHL.

-Former Thrashers/Avalanche forward Darren Haydar has joined EHC München of Germany's DEL.
