Olympic GOP

Everybody is talking about the new skiing and snowboarding "slopestyle" events at the Winter Olympics. I wish legislation was as exciting as winter sports. Maybe then, knowing the world was watching, the GOP would have more compassion.

John Boehner shocked the Democrats and the rest of the country when he managed to get some of his fellow Republicans to vote for a clean debt ceiling bill. Ted Cruz and the Tea Party were not happy.

University of Missouri football player Michael Sam could make history by being the first openly gay player in the NFL. While I applaud his courage, what does it say about the NFL that it took 94 years for an active gay player to feel comfortable enough to come out? Sad, sad, sad.
