Pope Francis was named Time's "Person of the Year", enraging Rush Limbaugh. Rush said the Pope was preaching "pure Marxism" and that the only reason the media likes the Pope is to get back at Rush.

UPMC Santa

UPMC is continuing to be the Grinch this holiday season by making no effort to work out a deal with Highmark to renew their mutually beneficial contract. The patients are the real losers here, no matter what insurance they have.

Newtown Anniversary

It has been one year since the shooting at Newtown where 20 children and six adults were massacred. The only one celebrating on this sad anniversary is the gun lobby. Nothing has been done to prevent this kind of thing from happening again.

Remember Mandela

It is hard to watch Obama and other world leaders celebrating Nelson Mandela's life-long fight for freedom and justice while in their own countries those same leaders deny justice to their own prisoners.

Selfie

In case you missed "selfie-gate" ... here is what happened. While at the memorial service for Nelson Mandela, Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning Schmidt decided she wanted a "selfie" with British Prime Minister David Cameron and President Obama. A photographer caught the action and it went viral. The rest is history.
