Daytime closures ahead for Roberto Clemente Bridge

Roberto Clemente Bridge inspections will begin on Monday, closing the bridge to pedestrians and vehicles from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following dates, weather permitting: May 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22 and 24. The bridge will stay open on May 23, when the Pirates play an afternoon home game. Traffic will detour to the Andy Warhol Bridge and lane restrictions will occur on the 10th Street Bypass as a river barge is used to inspect sections of the bridge, the Allegheny County Public Works Department announced.


Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group is sponsoring “Transit Day” on Thursday, with a noon event in Market Square in Downtown Pittsburgh. The organization wants rider to wear “Transit Yes” buttons. The purpose is to “draw attention to the importance of the issue and the need for a state transportation funding bill,” the group said. You can learn more here.

roadworkaheadVerizon work will cause a 20-minute closure of Route 28 near Millvale in both directions around midnight on Wednesday.

Also on Route 28, the inbound right lane on the bridge over Route 910 in Harmar will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, weather permitting, so crews can take a sampling of the bridge deck.

Short-term lane restrictions are possible on Wednesday and Thursday on Lebanon Church Road in West Mifflin during traffic signal improvements. Work will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days at these intersections: Lebanon Road, Delwar Road, Camp Hollow Road, Regis Avenue and Buttermilk Hollow Road.

The bridge that carries Main Street over Interstate 70 in Donegal will close for repairs next Tuesday (May 14) through late September.
