Fort Pitt Tunnel work to restrict nighttime traffic

UPDATE: PennDOT has postponed the planned closure of southbound Route 28 at Millvale this weekend. Next scheduled one is Nov. 9-12.

The Fort Pitt Tunnels will have single-lane traffic in both directions starting at 10 p.m. daily through Friday during lighting work. Restrictions will be lifted by 5 a.m. daily.

Closure of Streets Run Road in Baldwin Borough to reconstruct a railroad crossing has been postponed until next week. The road will be closed between Route 51 and Delwar Road from 9 a.m. next Monday until 4 p.m. Oct. 31.

Traffic on northbound Interstate 579-Crosstown Boulevard will be reduced to one lane between the off-ramp to Bigelow Boulevard and the Veterans Bridge starting at 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday while a sign structure is placed. Work concludes by 6 a.m. the next day.

Inspection of the McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge may cause lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday. All ramps will stay open.

Inspection may cause lane closures and traffic shifts on the ramps from northbound Interstate 79 to Route 65 at the Glenfield interchange (Exit 66) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Interstate 70 will be reduced to one lane in both directions at the bridge over Hunker Waltz Mills Road in Hempfield and New Stanton starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday and each night thereafter through Nov. 19. Restrictions lifted by 6 a.m. daily.
