Airport tours are sold out!

Written by Jon Schmitz on .

Hot ticket: The tours of the airside building at Pittsburgh International Airport for the 20th anniversary celebration this Saturday have sold out. “Family Fun Day” festivities in the ticketing level of the landside building remain free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Event parking is free.

The ramp from the inbound Parkway East to Second Avenue (Exit 71B) will be closed overnight Thursday, Monday and Tuesday, weather permitting, so crews can replace an overhead sign. The ramp closes at 9 p.m., reopens by 5 a.m., with the suggested detour via the Grant Street exit.

The ramp connecting the Liberty Bridge to northbound Interstate 579-Crosstown Boulevard will be closed for more wall repairs from 8 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday. The detour is to continue past the ramp and use Forbes Avenue, Washington Place and Bigelow Boulevard to reach northbound I-579.

Inspection of the Elizabeth Bridge will cause lane closures and stoppages of up to 10 minutes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday next week.

PennDOT says it will restore three lanes of traffic on the Leechburg Bridge over the Kiski River on Friday, nearly five weeks ahead of schedule.
