Pope Francis is TIME's Person of the Year

Written by Pittsblogher on .

Time magazine announced its final choice for The Person of the Year this morning. And it's the Pope. Time called him 'The People's Pope.'

Pope Francis was competing against Kathleen Sebelius, Barack Obama, Edward Snowden, Bashar Assad and others... among these contenders  was, yes, Miley Cyrus.

This is how Time justified the choice:

"He took the name of a humble saint and then called for a church of healing. The first non-European pope in 1,200 years is poised to transform a place that measures change by the century."

What do you think? Do you agree with Time's choice this year?
