Free meals, fun for children and teens in Latrobe
Do you know children or teens in the Latrobe area who could use a good meal and some fun on summer weekdays?
The Salvation Army in Latrobe is offering a free lunch plus games, crafts and activities at its center at 1420 Ridge Avenue, Latrobe. Lunch is from 11 a.m. to noon, with activities from noon to 2 p.m. It's all at no charge for children from birth to 17 (although those younger than 5 need to be accompanied by an adult).
The program started June 4 and so far Lt. Raymond Knous reports that it's not even close to filled. Unfortunately there's no transportation provided as part of the program.
To sign up, please call 724-537-6300. There is no charge, but participants do need to register.
