GTECH and Grow Pittsburgh are orchestrating a bike and bus tour concurrent with BikePGH’s annual Bike Fest this weekend.

The “Lots of Green” bike and bus tour will take people to more than 10 former vacant lots to show off the work that both non-profits have done remediating vacant lots and enabling food growing.

The stops will include the Braddock Farms in Braddock, the Garfield Hops Project garden, an 88-bed community garden on the South Side and sites on the North Side, in East Liberty, Millvale, Wilkinsburg and Homewood.

Guided bike tours will leave at 9a and 10a. The earlier one will cover 32 miles, the later one 2.5 to 7 miles. Bus tours will depart at 10.30a, 12.30p and 2.30p from the building the non-profits share, 6587 Hamilton Ave., in Larimer. The tours are $10 per person, and that cost gets you into the after party.
