#SEENandSTYLED: Maecenas XXX Edition

Written by Natalie Bencivenga on .

So, as many of you know, the Met Gala was on May 5. All the stars came out for a fun-filled, fashion-focused event to support the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. Here in Pittsburgh, the Opera is holding their annual Maecenas XXX Gala on Saturday. This gala is touted as a "top 10" event to see and be SEEN here in the city. And it got me thinking...what if I had the chance to style some of our cities fashion heavy hitters for the event in clothes from the Met Gala? Well, here's my pick for #SEENandSTYLED: Maecenas XXX edition:

Vivian Benter: If Audrey Hepburn was alive today, I believe she would take style tips from Mrs. Benter. With her waif-like figure, refined features and penchant for French designers, Mrs. Benter epitomizes understated elegance. I would love to see her come to Maecenas XXX dressed in this simple, classic, perfectly pink Ralph Lauren chosen by Rachel McAdams. But, on Mrs. Benter, I would love to see it with a long string of Mikimoto pearls (like these) a fushia pout, dewy skin, and a messy top-knot.

David Bush and Tim McVay: Always the life of the party, I love the fact that they will take fashion risks (even when that means dressing alike!) so I would love to see them take on Neil Patrick Harris and his partner, David Burtka's Thom Browne tuxedos from this year's Met. I see Mr. McVay wearing the argyle, and both rocking the cropped looks (sans eyeliner!).

Cindy Gerber: Any woman that chooses to wear a red Dior cocktail dress to this year's Spring Hat Luncheon gets a star in my book! Because she can carry color so well, I would love to see her in this striking Stella McCartney dress that Reese Witherspoon wore to this year's Met. The color would look amazing on her, with a forties-style coif along with a pair of statement earrings like these.

Samuel Clyde Badger: Always dressed to impress, Mr. Badger could really make a potato sack look good! But, we can do much better than that for this gala! How about this Ralph Lauren white dinner jacket? (As for his alter ego, Bunny Bixler? Oh, she would go full on old school glam in this fabulous Zac Posen gown worn by the incomparably lovely, Dita Von Tess.)

Roseanne Wholey: The first time I met Mrs. Wholey, she was dressed in a floor-length lipstick red Herve Leger gown, dripping in diamonds. She is my girl crush, natch!  For the big day, I would put her in this equally fabulous Dior gown wore by Charlize Theron at the Met. And to top it off, add these earrings. (Hair back in a high, sleep ponytail as to not distract from the jewels!)

Christopher Hahn: Mr. Hahn, general director of the Pittsburgh Opera, would look fantastic in this Ralph Lauren Purple Label ensemble. It's old-school glamour done in a new-school way. I give it two thumbs up!

 Benedict-Cumberbatch

Michele Fabrizi: Chair of the Pittsburgh Opera, Ms. Fabrizi has a New York-jet setting look when it comes to her fashion choices. I see her taking risks (and having them pay off!) by wearing this over-the-top fabulous Givenchy creation designed for Beyonce. #GirlsRunTheWorld.

(And of course, if I had to pick a Met Gala dress to wear to this year's Opera Gala...) Marchesa all the way!
