Day 3: from Shepherdstown to Hancock

The Point Made! group covered 52 miles today. They rode in the rain most of the day. Few people opted out to be driven to tonight's sleepover in Hancock, hoping for sunnier weather in the coming days.

Those who rode their bicycles today stopped at Williamsport, Maryland. Williamsport is a small town with an advantageous location on the Potomac River and C&O Canal, where the slow pace of life is something local residents are proud of. According to the Trail Book, George Washington visited the town quite often and even considered it for the location of the new nation's capital. 

David Tucker, who currently lives and works in San Francisco is part of the Point Made! group. He shared some photos from today on his Google+ page.
