NEW YORK -- Behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week is the place to soak up expert hair and makeup tips used to make models runway ready!

At Sachin & Babi (a contemporary eveningwear brand by Indian-born husband and wife design duo Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia), the beauty look evolved from the designers' roots in Indian with rich colors and drama.

For nails, in particular, models were given French manicures with a twist. Rather than the traditional white tip, nail techs applied Zoya Courtney (a deep red) and Brooklyn (a radiant gold).

Want to try it at home? Here's a step-by-step guide:

1.) Apply two coats of gold to full nail -- allow ample time to dry in between coats

2.) Once gold polish is dry, apply two coats of red to the tip

3.) To heighten the drama, apply the red polish on an arch, rather than straight across the tip of the nail. Need a guide? Try using round notebook paper reinforcement stickers on nails to help polish go on evenly for all fingers.

4.) Once dry, apply top coat and enjoy!
