The fifth annual Pittsburgh Fashion Week is less than two months away, and organizers are gearing up for the festivities by posting the lineup of events slated for Sept. 22-28.
Similar to last year, the opening celebration will be a fashion showcase spotlighting Pittsburgh-based designers at Highmark Stadium, accompanied by a vendor fair. A designers showcase also will be held Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings at Highmark Stadium. Holding four days of events at one location is a change for Pittsburgh Fashion Week, which in the past varied more often where shows were held to encompass more parts of the region.
On Wednesday, a fashion show and networking event will be at Macy's, Downtown. Student designers will be presented on Saturday with their collections at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Downtown. The week will close with the fifth annual Pittsburgh Fashion Hall of Fame induction luncheon at the Omni William Penn Hotel, Downtown.
Pittsburgh Fashion Week launched in 2009 under the direction of Miyoshi Anderson in an attempt to bring more attention to and opportunities for designers, models and stylists in Pittsburgh. For a full list of participating designers, visit www.pittsburghfashionweek.com.
