At Perle in Market Square Wednesday night, the champagne was bubbling, the music was thumping and the fashions were flowing as Pittsburgh's first Style Week kicked off its inaugural event.

About 150 people turned out for the festivities, which started with a couple hours of mingling and browsing accessories vendors. The next couple hours featured three fashion shows. The first showcased ready-to-wear looks for women available at Younique Boutique, located at One Oxford Centre, Downtown.

The fellas took to the floor next, showing off with some swag dress and casual wear from Apparel House on Smithfield Street, Downtown. The headlining designer of the night was Lana Neumeyer (above left), whose Brazilian roots infused her women's fashions with warm colors, sensual silhouettes and bold patterns.

"I really just want to absorb this and have fun," said director Wadria Taylor (above right). "I want to take it in and remember everything that happened."

Day 2 will honor some of the standouts in fashion design, photography, makeup and more in Pittsburgh at the Superwomen in Heels awards at 6 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Winery, Strip District.

Here's a recap of some of the night's looks (photos by Bill Wade/Post-Gazette):
