Got itchy eyes? Your nail polish could be the culprit, Clinique says

Plagued with itchy, burning eyes? Believe it or not, your nail polish could be to blame.

Many nail colors contain chemicals and fragrances that can irritate eyes and the skin around them. On average, people touch their eyes nearly 200 times each day, so the chance that your manicure is wreaking havoc on your skin and allergies is fairly significant.

But Clinique says it has come up with a solution. The cosmetics brand has developed a collection of nail enamels formulated to minimize skin sensitivity, without compromising rich color and shine. The Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins line, which took Clinique scientists six years to make, is allergy tested and 100 percent fragrance free.

Polishes range from soft neutrals to eye-catching brights that are chip resistant when applied with Clinique base and top coats.
Polishes are available for $12.50 each at Clinique counters and www.clinique.com.
