Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: J. Crew impresses with preppy prints, sparkle for women and casual cool for men
NEW YORK -- No one does preppy quite like J. Crew. And at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, its fall 2013 collection was no exception.
For women, there were lots of sparkles, neons and layering of prints, a common theme this Fashion Week. Similar to other designers' collections, elbow-length and short leather gloves in rich colors accentuated looks. Silhouettes varied, from slender patterned pants to boxier over-sized coats.
J. Crew kept clothes casual and cool for men. Suits were fitted with head-to-toe textured fabrics or patterns, such as plaid. Blazers and scarves were paired with sweaters and sweatshirts, and jeans in dark washes had cuffs rolled up to show off lace-up dress shoes and buckled slip-ons in black and camel tones.
