There's a new children's book out that uses Pittsburgh as the inspiration for its fantasy city.
The book, "Stop Thief," was written and illustrated by Adam J. B. Lane, who was born in London but grew up in Point Breeze (he now lives in Boston). He told the Post-Gazette's Virginia Linn that scenes in the book were inspired by some of his favorite Pittsburgh places, such as the Pittsburgh Zoo, the Carnegie Museum, Kennywood and the old Nabisco factory on Penn Avenue, which is a chocolate factory in the book.
He will be in town tomorrow (Thursday, July 26th) for a book signing at the Toonseum Downtown from 7-9 pm.
