Rose Day at Renzie Park Saturday, free event at an amazing rose garden

Written by Doug Oster on .

Renzie BlogEveryone should know about the beauty of The Renzienhausen Park Rose Garden in McKeesport. If you love roses and want to learn how to keep them thriving, Rose Day at the park is for you.
One of the country's greatest rose gardens is located in McKeesport. It's something every gardener should see. The Renzienhausen Park Rose Garden is cared for by volunteers who put their hearts into the garden. The roses are amazing, but there's even more to see there including perennials, trees and shrubs.
The Pittsburgh Rose Society and the Garden Club of McKeesport have joined forces to present "Rose Day at Renzie Park".  In 2010 the Renziehausen Park Rose Garden, located off Eden Park Blvd. in McKeesport, was voted one of the top-ten public rose gardens in the country.  This is a one-day event to be held on Saturday, June 14 from
1 P.M. to 4 P.M. and is free and open to the public.

Planned activities include tours of the rose garden, various workshops including how to start roses from cuttings, and growing roses in containers.  There also will be a panel discussion by our Consulting Rosarians dealing with your rose problems.  Refreshments will be provided.  For further information and directions go to www.pghrosesociety.org.
Here's a video I did on the garden.
