May Market at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is one of my favorite annual events. It offers one stop shopping for gardeners, with an unmatched array of plants, gardening items and food.

It's bigger than ever this year and will be held Friday and Saturday. I'll be there both days from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. answering questions, signing books and talking gardening.

One thing I love about May Market is the variety of vendors. Whether it's vegetables, flowers, shrubs, trees, herbs or something else, you'll be able to find it here.

It's a Pittsburgh tradition which heralds the official start of the gardening season. Speaking of traditions, the Rockledge Garden Club has served hand made strawberries dipped in fondant since 1935. You can't go to May Market without having some.

May Market runs from 9:30 a.m until 7 p.m. on Friday and 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Here's a link to more information and a complete list of vendors.

Below is a segment from Pittsburgh Today Live with a look at some of the plants offered at May Market and a taste of strawberries too.
