Using hostas as cutflowers? It works

I have a path which was totally overgrown with phlox and hosta. After giving the plants a severe haircut, I saved some for a flower arrangement.

A lot of times we don't think of foliage plants like hosta for cutting, but they add color and bold texture.

Those 'Stargazer' lilies were on their last legs, thought I would add them to the vase along with some dahlias which are growing in the vegetable garden.

This is the time of year when there are lots of flowers to use for cutting, just don't forget hostas and other foliage plants.
