Help the food bank harvest Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday

Written by Doug Oster on .

The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank needs volunteers on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to help harvest produce for the hungry.

There is a great need to provide fresh produce for children, seniors, the working poor and many others. This is your chance to help.

I work with the food bank to collect fresh produce from gardeners as part of a national program called Plant a Row for the Hungry.

I've seen the people that are helped through programs like PAR. The recipients of the fresh food are grateful for what they receive and for many families, it's their only source of good produce.

Thursday is at Soergel's (Connoquenessing location).

Friday is Harvest Valley Farms.

Saturday is Wexford Farm.

Here are all the details.
