I love double petunias! In fact, I love any double flowers, but there's something special about petunias

I was sent some Surfinia Summer Double petunias to trial and I'm thrilled with the results. They are part of the Suntory Collection.

They are bred to take the heat and rain. Since we've had both, I was interested to see how they would perform.

I'm in the shade, so I wasn't sure how they would bloom with just part sun, but they are going strong. I've got 'Pink,' 'White' and 'Rose' Surfinia in a hanging basket which gets only a couple hours of filtered sun.

They haven't been deadheaded or fed and continue to bloom effortlessly. I'll get both of those jobs done in a day or two and I'm looking forward to see how they react to a gardener who is actually going to take care of them.

You'll have to poke around at the nurseries to find them, but it will be worth the effort.
