Snow crocus is aptly named; what a difference a day makes

Written by Doug Oster on .

Yesterday this snow crocus emerged without any snow.

Today it's even more beautiful blanketed in the white stuff.

Nature is amazing, that's for sure. To think a delicate flower like a this will happily shake off the snow without issue is something else.

I can't wait until this cold spell passes and we see more spring bulbs sprouting.

Welcome, wild harbinger of spring!
  To this small nook of earth;
Feeling and fancy fondly cling
  Round thoughts which owe their birth
To thee, and to the humble spot
Where chance has fixed thy lowly lot.
