Perennial Plant of the Week; Coneflowers...all of them

Written by Doug Oster on .

Coneflowers are indestructible, love sun and breeders are having a field day creating new forms and colors.

I'm a sucker for the pink doubles, but the combinations are endless.

This is the time of year to look through the catalogs and explore your options.

Coneflowers can bloom with partial sun too.

Plant them in good soil amended with organic matter and they will out live the gardener.

Check out some of the cool varities below. Remember, local nurseries will carry many of them, but will order them too if you fall in love with one from a catalog.
