North Allegheny poured it on in the second half. Game was close for more than a quarter.

Final stats: Mack Leftwich 8 of 16 for 137 yards. Gregg Garrity big game with five catches for 84 yards. Alex DeCiantis rushed for 83 yards on 19 carries.

For Seneca Valley, Forrest Barnes held to 15 yards on 8 attempts. Jordan Brown rushes for 76 on 12. Brown finishes 9 of 21 throwing for 96 yards.

9:52 p.m. - 38-3 with three minutes left. Need I say any more?

9:45 p.m. - And Cage Galupi in at QB. Expecting big things from cagey Cage.

9:44 p.m. - Second-teamers now in for North Allegheny early in the fourth quarter.

Final score: Butler 19, Pine-Richland 7

9:40 p.m. - 27-yard TD run by Alex DiCiantis and North Allegheny leads, 38-3.

It will end. The longest losing streak in WPIAL history. West Shamokin is leading Riverview, 19-0. Wow. The Wolves doing it in convincing fashion.

And how about longtime doormat Avella? About to go to 3-0. Beating Mapletown 33-6.

McKeesport will get its first win, leading Norwin, 26-7.

A little bit of a surprise, or not? Greensburg Salem defeats Hampton, 20-10.

From Canadian Curt: Mars goes to 3-0 with a 40-6 victory against Indiana.

9:25 p.m. - North Allegheny inside the Seneca

9:23 p.m. - I think this one is pretty much over. I thought Seneca Valley's offense would do a little more tonight. But ...

9:21 p.m. - North Allegheny punts. Seneca takes over at 8-yard line. North Allegheny defense has been awfully impressive. Actually, more impressive than NA offense.

Ringgold leading Belle Vernon, 20-2.

Butler beating Pine-Richland, 19-7. Jordan Cratty another TD.

Small upset maybe? Hopewell 7, Blackhawk 6, and that's a final score.

9:15 p.m. - I think Elijah Zeise just might have more athletic ability than his father, Paul. Just a hunch. Elijah just intercepted a Seneca Valley pass in end zone.

South Fayette wins, 50-0, over Steel Valley. Ouch.

9:12 p.m. - NA goes 77 yards on first drive of second half. Elijah Zeise scores TD on 10-yard TD pass from Leftwich. Now 24-3. Can't see Seneca coming back from this.

Butler goes on top of Pine-Richland, 12-7, on Jordan Cratty 10-yard TD run.

From PG photographer Matt Freed, North Allegheny's Gregg Garrity scores a TD for North Allegheny.

Montour leading, 34-0.

In big City League game, No. 1 vs. No. 2, Perry leads Allderdice, 6-0, midway through fourth quarter.

8:57 p.m. - I remember talking to NA lineman Pat Kugler this summer and he kept on telling me how good Jeremy Gonzales was and that he is one of the best lineman in the WPIAL. I listened. Tonight I see. Pat, you were correct.

But I should've trusted Kugler. He always has some good insights. His dad, Sean, is in press box tonight.

Gateway winning big again, 34-14.

Could the longest losing streak in WPIAL history be coming to an end? West Shamokin is leading Riverview, 12-0.

Sophomore Ben DiNucci 12-yard TD pass to Nate Roberts and Pine-Richland leads Butler, 7-6, early in third.

From King Eric, Bishop Canevin leading Carlynton, 31-0.

Big Class A game, North Catholic leading Northgate, 7-6.

West Mifflin 41, Uniontown 0

8:44 p.m. - First half, Seneca Valley scored its three points on its first drive. After that, Seneca offense wasn't much. Seneca Valley only six first downs in first half and 107 total yards. It's not like North Allegheny is running up and down the field. TD off blocked punt certainly help. North Allegheny has only 127 toal yards in first half. Mack Leftwich 4 of 9 for 67 yards. Jordan Brown 7 of 14 passing for 69 yards for Seneca. Forrest Barnes has only 14 yards on six carries.

North Allegheny has had two TDs called back because of penalties, or this could be worse.

Central Valley 42, Chartiers Valley 0 halftime

Seton-LaSalle 32, Keystone Oaks 0

Central Catholic 35, Canon-McMillan 0 at half

Well, Peters Township was 2-0, but??? Peters trails Upper St. Clair, 28-7.

South Fayette takes 35-0 lead on Steel Valley. Mercy rule in effect.

8:38 p.m. - 46-yard TD pass to Gregg Garrity for NA called back because of procedure with eight seconds left in half.

Little bit of a surprise. 6-6 Valley and Shady Side Academy at half.

8:33 p.m. - Interesting. Jordan Brown, Seneca Valley QB, playing some at cornerback.

8:32 p.m. - Seneca really having trouble doing anything offensively now. After that first drive, Raiders haven't done much at all. NA takes over with :46 left in ahlf at its own 42.

Thomas Jefferson crushing Hollidaysburg, 41-0.

From The Boss: Butler 6, Pine-Richland 0 at halftime

8:27 p.m. - North Allegheny moves 79 yards in 14 plays. Coach Art Walker goes for it on fourth-and-five from the 8. Mack Leftwich hits Gregg Garrity with TD pass and PAT is good to give North Allegheny 17-3 lead. Leftwich made a lot of plays during drive.

Hopewell leading at half, 7-6.

Washington has scored 50 points in first half.

8:15 p.m. - North Allegheny lineman Jeremy Gonzales is just wrecking everything for Seneca Valley. Gonzales has been dominating. He's a stud.

From Craig Mc. Clairton leads California, 20-0, in first half.

Josh Hulbert has all three TDs as North Hills leads Shaler, 21-0. Wait. Just received word he scored again. Four TDs and it's now 28-0.

Woodland Hills leads Bethel Park, 35-0.

From Canadian Curt: Mars Planets continue to roll. Mars leads Indiana, 26-6 at half.

8:08 p.m. - Special teams TD for NA. Jeremy Gonzales blocks punt, Kevin Edwards grabs it at 5-yard line and scores TD with 11:16 left in the half. PAT good by Buchert and NA leads, 10-3.

8:02 p.m. - Jason Buchert kicks 27-yard field goal and North Allegheny ties it, 3-3, with 1:08 left in first quarter.

7:53 p.m. - Seneca moves to its own 21, but must punt.

7:50 p.m. -North Allegheny punts after picking up one first down. SV ball at own 2-yard line.

From Dan the Man: North Hills has taken 14-0 lead on Shaler. North Hills' top two rushers, Jordan Blackmon and Tyler Reddick, are not playing because of injuries. Blackmon ankle. Reddick concussion. Still North Hills no problem. Shaler must really be down this year. Gave up 60 points last week.

Washington's Shai McKenzie already has four TDs. Washington leads, 36-0.

South Fayette goes ahead, 20-0.

7:44 p.m. - Brendan Conikder playing for NA after missing last week with injury. Just caught 19-yard pass that was almost intercepted.

SFayette has 107 yards passing in first quarter.

Another TD pass for Woody High Cody McClelland. Now lead Bethel, 21-0.

7:41 p.m. - Drive stalls, but Seneca takes 3-0 lead on Chad Izenas 26-yard field goal with 7:25 left in first quarter. Jordan Brown looking very good running. Good for Seneca's confidence to score first.

7:38 p.m. - Seneca driving. Helped by personal foul penalty. Now inside 5-yard line.

Brett Brumbaugh throws his 10th TD pass of season, this one to Zach Challingsworth and it's now 14-0 SFayette over Steel Valley.

7:31 p.m. - Game a little late in starting. Hey, I don't think I want to meet Seneca Valley coaching staff in a back alley ever. Former Butler and Penn State LB Tyrell Sales in his first year on staff. And former Steeler LB Jason Gildon in his first year on staff.

Seton-LaSalle jumping on cross-the-street rival Keystone Oaks, 14-0.

Cody McClelland throws his second TD pass and Woodland Hills has taken 14-0 lead on Bethel Park.

From Big Brad Everett: Brett Brumbaugh throws 23-yard TD pass to Conner Beck and South Fayette takes 7-0 lead on Steel Valley in a big Class AA game.

From Kenny "The Horse": Woodland Hills has taken a 7-0 lead on Bethel Park.

** Brendan Coniker and Elijah Zeise, two of North Allegheny's top players, did not play last week because of injuries. Both are expected to play tonight. Zeise, who has a shoulder injury, might only play on offense, though.

** I think temperature has dropped here about 70 degrees in the past hour or so. OK, I'm exaggerating - just a little. But it has most certainly cooled off.

** Key to the game: Seneca Valley's defense. I think Seneca Valley will move the ball and score some points, but can they slow down North Allegheny.

PREDICTION: I say North Allegheny by two touchdowns.
