It's official: Minnie at Lincoln Park
It has been confirmed that 6-foot-8 Elijah Minnie has enrolled at Lincoln Park.
Lincoln Park athletic director Mike Bariski said this morning that Minnie was accepted into the Beaver County charter school last week. Minnie played at Monessen as a freshman, but was sent to Summit Academy for his sophomore year. Summit Academy is a school for adjudicated youth and Minnie played for the Knights last season.
It is almost certain the WPIAL will have a hearing with Minnie to determine if he enrolled at Lincoln Park, at least partly, for athletic reasons. Lincoln Park has turned into one of the top Class A programs in the state the past few years, but the school has come under criticism because a number of Lincoln Park's players have transferred into the school in the middle of their high school careers.
