GCC's Guiser picks Akron

On the football recruiting front, Greensburg Central Catholic's Zach Guiser has decided to accept a scholarship from the University of Akron.

Guiser will be a senior in the fall and is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound running back-receiver-defensive back who has been a starter since his freshman season. He has 16 career interceptions.

Guiser was recruited to play defensive back and had a few other scholarship offers from Mid-American Conference schools. Akron's new coach is Terry Bowden.
